The major search engines are now including new local search options which will help people to find local businesses in their towns and cities, quickly, and easily. Hmm... yes, businesses like yours!

Google, Yahoo! and MSN are Beta testing their new local business search technology.

So online searchers can use these special local search options, to find specific types of businesses located directly in their own cities or towns. For example, people in Calgary, Alberta, can now search through business-specific local listings, just for Calgary - and even in their neighbourhoods and suburbs.

Depending on the search engine used, the engine results can be sorted by geographic location, or even by postal code in Canada or zip code in the U.S.A. It's a really useful new search option!

Google provides results starting from a 2 km. radius, which can be expanded up to 150 km.

So people could even find the details for local businesses right next door to their workplaces, or in their local mall - but only IF they are listed in local search results.

No business listing means that prospective clients can't find them on the internet!

Make sure searchers can start finding your business online, using the new local search engine technology.
